The question of how big XL puzzle pieces really are is one that has been rattling around in my head for a while, which is why I was so happy when the new puzzles from English Gibson arrived with the courier last week. Now I could finally see an XL puzzle piece.
Gibson is an expert in puzzles with XL puzzle pieces , because they have been proven to have several advantages:
- The XL puzzle pieces are significantly thicker than ordinary puzzle pieces, namely approx. 2.2 mm
- They're easier for little fingers to grab if you're doing puzzles with kids
- They are easier to get hold of if you have arthritis in your fingers, for example
How big are the XL pieces?
You get the answer here. In the picture you can see the bag from one of the new puzzles from Gibson with puzzle pieces in size XL. It's called I Bogladen and has 500 thick XL puzzle pieces. The pieces measure approx. 3.3 x 2.5 cm and are therefore 2.2 mm thick. Between the bag and the box in the picture, they can see some very ordinary puzzle pieces. They are from the puzzle with 500 pieces and Moomin on the Riviera , and those pieces are just one number smaller than the XL pieces and are like pieces in puzzles with 500 and 1000 pieces are now.

Are there also puzzles with XXL pieces?
The answer is yes. The puzzles from Gibson that I have in Butik Box Quiz have pieces in size XXL. They are big! I have measured them and the pieces measure approx. 3.5 x 7 cm and is approx. 2.5 mm thick. It makes for a big, nice puzzle, even though there are fewer pieces.
